Hi everyone
just joined this site. I’ve had breast cancer twice now
I had a lumpectomy 8 years ago and was on anastrozol until January last year and was discharged from the hospital. Unfortunately I had a recurrence last year and had a right breast mastectomy last August. I had 15 rounds of chemotherapy and I’m now on hormone tablets and a targeted therapy tablet.
obviously had a few ups and downs with chemo but generally speaking I got through it quite well. I seem to be having a harder time emotionally now I’m on the tablets
thanks fir listening
Hi GerdaMeta
I am sorry you are going through treatment for a breast cancer recurrence. I don’t have the same type of breast cancer - mine is TNBC - but my cancer is metastatic having spread to my liver fairly early on. So I completely understand how difficult this is emotionally especially when you thought it was all over only for it to start up again. The CDK inhibitors have a really good track record for your cancer so there’s a lot of hope you can put this in the past again. Wishing you all the best.
