I’ve had a mastectomy on Thursday

I came home from hospital yesterday morning

I really need to have a proper wash ,

I’ve been using wipes but I don’t feel clean and my hairs in need for a good scrub ,

any ideas to help me get clean

  • I had a previna dressing/pump that I couldn't get wet but managed to wash my hair over the bath. We have a shower over the bath and I put it as low as possible and stood next to it rather than under and used that to wet/rinse myself below the breast (I kept my bra on). I then washed my arms/face etc over the sink, again with my bra on. I didn't do it every day as it was a bit of a faff but it worked and I felt ok.

  • Hi , thanks for replying yes that’s what I have the pumps moved into my drain bag now tho ,

I was going to sit in the bath and just use warm water and a cloth , hair wise I don’t know yet but really need it cleaning as I’ve got to go to clinic on Wednesday ,

  • I had a lower half bath and carefully  washed the rest with a flannel, avoiding my dressing ( i had both boobs operated on).  And I washed my hair over the bath with a shower attachment.   The hairwashing and drying-I considered as part of my post-op exercises.

The joy when I could have a proper full on shower was immense though x

  • Hiii awww bless you just pain of this one boob done is ridiculous can’t imagine having both at the same time , sounds about right I’ll do that lower half bath then wash hair over bath I’ll try any how , x
