Hi everyone.
I found a lump in my right breast mid Feb which turned out to be high grade invasive ductal and already spread to 3 lymph nodes in my armpit. Last Friday I had a therapeutic mammoplasty and axilliary node clearance.
I am in some kind of dream mode where it all feels like its happening to someone else. I'm dealing with it with dark humour (my default mode). I dont know what to do with it.
Hi Shmoodle
Welcome to the forum I'm Daisy53 on of the Community Champions on this forum. I'm sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. What you are feeling is perfectly natural it's a shock to the system to be diagnosed with cancer. I suggest that you start a journal if you haven't already as it can help to get your thoughts in order. I wrote a journal while I had cancer and I found it very helpful.
Would you consider counselling as that can also help with how you are feeling? If that is something you would like to do, you can ring the Macmillan helpline on 0808 808 0000 and they can arrange counselling for you, or if you have a Maggie's centre or another cancer centre near you, you can either give them a ring to call into them and they can also arrange counselling for you.
Wishing you the best of luck with whatever comes next for you.
Best wishes
Daisy53
