Hi. Im 54 my mammogram was clear last April but 7 weeks ago I found a lump in my breast then another under the armpit.
People said its not cancer because its sore...Bullocks [ pardon my french] its stage 3 cancer and in the lymph nodes.
Ive just had a ct scan so still playing the waiting game. They need to see if spread anywhere else..
The waiting is killing me. Trying to stay positive but been pulled from my hrt meds and well going cold turkey on those is a killer. I cry even when I dont want to
I wondered once we get the call for the results how long before they start treatment? Days weeks?
Also sorry another question she side surgery or chemo first. Is there anything I can do to help with the chemo? Any top tips greatfully recieved.
Hi, I hear you, the waiting for more tests and results is so so difficult. Keeping busy and distracted helps, but even so, I found it hard. I had chemo for a 55mm lump first, to shrink it, then surgery. Chemo was tough, but do-able. I kept a blog throughout but here's the one about chemo which might be useful Chemo blog link
Best of luck with speedy results so you get a clear plan soon
I read your blog Irishgirl16 it inspired me thank you it’s my life in words but gave me encouragement x
hi, yes the if it hurts its not cancer gah
it is all a waiting at the moment, i had surgery scheduled a month after my biopsy results diagnosis,
for me i did the two week referral, which i think was 2weeks, then did the mammo and ultrasound, and was told yes we think it is what we think it is, and then a punch biopsy, and more waiting.I was living in London. I think i knew like March 7, had surgery late April, and a second surgery for margins in late May. sadly there is a lot of waiting, for results, for type, for plans etc, have they given you the biopsy results. That usually determines the plan of attack.
I did surgery then chemo, had an oncotype test and won the lotto of chemo, as Irish girl said it is doable, but i imagine the hormone swings arent helping atm .
I watched a lot of cat videos waiting
for the chemo ask for the best anti nausea meds they have and you will probably want sour or spicier foods

Thank you. Wilk definitely ask for meds. I went 10 days after biopsy and she said im negative low positive but hers2 was not fully developed. They need longer to tell and the cat scan. Ive done the cat scan on Tuesday. Thursday was a week since last appointment. She said its in the lymph nodes 3 definitely but CT to see if spread anywhere else.
Now every ache and pain the question iis that cancer attacking me....
Wish they could just say. :(
Thank you for the blog. Read it to my daughter. She made notes. It was just what I needed. Genuine honest advice. Thanks x
I think I must be in a similar situation to you and completely understand how you feel.
I was diagnosed last week and it has been confirmed that it is in x3 lymph nodes. Mine is oestrogen positive but still waiting for hers2 results. I have my CT scan next week and the thought of those results is terrifying, ever since I knew I had to have the CT scan I am worrying about every minor ache and pain I have and thinking the worst case scenario.
It is hard waiting on results, I just want to get on with treatment now whatever that may be. Will know for definite in just under 2 weeks time.
Wishing you all the best with your CT results.
totally understand the aches and pains fears try not to let it overwhelm you, it is easier said than done, but glad you are getting help coping here, this place saved me when i went through it. i also checked cancer, org and found a woman w exaclty same kind of diagnosis, helped me get a handle on what to expect which i find helps. the outside web is too full of scary stuff, so dont go there for info
