Hi, I had my appointment at the breast clinic 2 days ago and was told there was suspicious lump and x3 lymph nodes. I am going back to receive the biopsy results next week to confirm the grading and discuss treatmentplan.

I am just so scared and dont know how to deal with my diagnosis. I have to have a CT scan week after next and I am absolutely terrified incase the results show it has spread elsewhere.

  • Hello,

Im so sorry you find yourself in this position, its truly awful.

But, youre not alone, everyone here has been through something, and they are all so kind and supportive.

I was diagnosed last month, I have had mammograms, ultrasound and biopsies done.  I have a appointment next Tuesday to discuss my surgery/ treatment plan.

Its very, very scary and its only natural to be anxious, but I'm absolutely sure that you're in good hands and they will take very good care of you.

Everyone says that once you have a treatment plan in place things become so much easier, I'm hanging onto that just now.

Try to take one day at a time, reach out if you need advice or reassurance (macmillan and the breast care team are great resources) and please don't be too hard on yourself, its a worrying time.

    Joyce xx

  • Hi there, being scared is completely normal, especially when you're still going through tests and waiting for results.  All I can suggest is to try and keep busy and distracted and focus on things within your control.

There's lots of advice on the Macmillan website and if you feel it would help to speak to someone, Macmillan has a great helpline which you can call on 0800 808 0000. The team are available 8am to 8pm daily and happy to listen, chat and provide advice and support.

I hope you get your test results and a treatment plan soon, I do think when you know what you're dealing with it does get easier. Best wishes
