Hi having gone to a single mastectomy I am struggling to look at my new body. I don’t regret decision and have wonderful support. But can’t seem to look at what is not there anymore I wonder if this has happened to anyone else? What do I do?
Hi Angel888
I'm not sure this is any help, but, I'm about to undergo a Mastectomy and that's very definitely my biggest fear.
I'm sure what you're feeling is perfectly normal.
Hopefully you'll get some support here from some of the lovely ladies who have already gone through this. I'm going to keep following to see what advice you get!
Love, Joyce x
You get used to it don’t worry. I enjoyed the fact I could see my feet again in the shower without having to lean over! It did make me aware of my belly though so promptly went on a diet! It’s best just to get your bra on before you look in any mirrors. It’s amazing how my friends can’t tell which side has a prosthesis and which is real, so as long as you have your clothes on it’s fine.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
