Hi, I’m new to this group and was diagnosed with DCIS High Grade in my left breast last Friday. I have an appointment at the hospital on Monday to discuss the results. I have just received today an invite to have further mammography on my right breast, which I thought was ok. Is it usual to have a repeat one in the non-cancer breast when a cancer diagnosis has been made? I was feeling quite calm before and now this has just freaked me out a bit.
Hello,
I'm sorry you're going through this.
I have also just been diagnosed with high grade DCIS in my left breast. I had my results yesterday, and they've asked me to have another biopsy done. So, I think its perhaps common to make further checks after the initial results, just to make sure you get the right treatment.
Try not to worry about it (impossible I know) I'm sure they will explain everything to you on Monday.
I know what your going through.

Hi Joyce. Thank you for your reply. I’m so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I’m sending virtual hugs. My rational side is thinking I’m glad they’re having another look at my ‘normal’ breast just in case…..but my panicked side is thinking have they seen something else. I’m sure everything will be clearer on Monday after my appointment. Just a little wobble when I thought I was holding it together. Take care xx
