Tests and scans

Hi my name is orla I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago on 2.2.23 I had surgery in April they removed a 8 1/2cm turmor and 6 lymph nods, it was a flap surgery I started chemotherapy 6 sessions in May then in Oct I had radiotherapy treatment 18 sessions in December on 2 places my neck and may right breast ,I started hormone therapy, along with a targeted drug for 2 years , i then developed lymphedema and all the struggles that go along with it,oct 2024 i had surgery on the same side again to remove  fattie tissue so  I have just completed abemaciclib 150mg bd Dec 2025 I then had a ctscan on the 6th December 2025 my onoglist couldn't get me on the phone so informed my next of kin on Fri 12th Dec they have found something on my right rib and now need a isotopic bone scan .I was just wondering has another had this scan iam very nervous and worried the cancer has spread 

  • Hi Orla,  I have had this scan three times.  They inject you with radio active fluid and then you have to wait three hours and then they scan your whole body.  It is to check all your bones.  It doesn't hurt.  When are you having the scan?

  • Oh thank you Lee iam due to have it middle of January, it's just the waiting that is making me nervous and I suppose the thought of the results, I know its used for other reasons,but considering my history I always go to the worse case 1st .
