BREAST CANCER

good afternoon everybody.

on Monday I received my new cycle of Chemo. I am now having 3 cycles of Docetaxel. I sailed through my first 3 cycles of EC with virtually no side effects at all.

today, I feel pretty ‘off’ general aching throughout the body, and very tired.

i have read that ‘hair loss’ is expected. I am cold capping, which has prevented me losing the majority of my hair, which has been great, and I am now seeing new growth starting to appear. Hair has completely changed colour and texture, and I now have chemo curls.

Any feedback on how this change of chemo has effected anybody else would be greatly appreciated.

i hope everybody is doing well.

  • Hi

I have had 3 cycles of EC and I switch to Docetaxel on Monday.  I, like you sailed through EC. I have lost 50% of hair but you cannot tell when I tie it back so hoping I don't lose more.

I am expecting more aches with this one and I will let you know next week!!  How are your hands and feet? and were you ok during the infusion?

  • Hi there.

the infusion was no problem whatsoever. They did say that I could feel hot and flushed, but nothing at all.

hands and feet ok, however I have seen a little swelling around my ankles. (I have made myself go out for a walk and get some exercise, together with increasing my water intake).

I am going to my hairdresser next week, to get a tidy up, as I look like a shaggy dog. I am letting my grey natural hair grow through. I am just hoping that I am not jumping the gun, and  lose a considerable amount more hair.

I am just hoping that the side effects will be as the EC (fingers and toes crossed).
