Just wanted to say a panicky hello. Received biopsy results yesterday and reeling from the results. Grade 3 ductal cancer plus in lymph nodes. Op already scheduled for surgery on 13th November. Terrified it might be elsewhere. Horrible conversation with daughters who are both away at university. On a rollercoaster I didn’t sign up for! Anyone else feeling like this?
Hi there, welcome to the club that no one asks to join. I'm one of the champions here in this group and I'm glad you've found us, hope you'll find this a useful place for help and support. I'm so sorry you've had these results, but it sounds positive that your surgery is already planned.
It's an emotional and overwhelming time so don't forget, as well as this group, the lovely folks at Macmillan are at the end of the phone, 8am to 8pm on 0800 808 0000 for advice, or simply to listen to your concerns.
Best wishes
Thank you. Trying to remain positive and busy prior to surgery. Walking everyday and self care. Just want to get on with the next step. Pre op and marker on 20th so things are happening.
I was diagnosed with grade 2 plus lymph nodes in May, had 2 mths of tests as they thought I might have secondary in spine. I was relieved when told that was negative. Have 2 rounds of chemo to go. I am single and have 3 children 19, 18, 15...I understand how traumatic it is.
You are stronger than you think and deal with each day at a time x
Thank you for your message. I think I simply have to take day at a time. Telling the girls away at university broke my heart.
sending strength
Panicky yes! I’ve been recently diagnosed and have to have 6 cycles of chemo before the operation. So scared, how do we get through this?! Sending a hug x
Oh bless you! We will get through it as we have to. The alternative is simply not an option. Stay in touch and here to support you x
I have the same as you, had surgery 3 weeks ago , was told 2 weeks later than labs hv come back, and cancer cells in lymph nodes, and cells in perimeters, so im booked to have another surgery to my breast on the 25th, there leaving lymph nodes for now, and will do radiotherapy to them. I hope your surgery goes well today, rest lots !
We get through this as we are strong women and we have no choice xx
I have just been diagnosed for the second time with high grade DCIS. Awaiting surgery to have a full mastectomy on both breast. Head is everywhere as I also have a small dimple on my breast. Mammogram was clear in June but noticed the dent. Went and have been diagnosed with a DCIS. At this stage they say that there is no evidence of Invasive and offered another lumpectomy but I chose a double mastectomy. Can’t go through this again. My head is going places it shouldn’t.
Definitely just try and take it a day at a time - it’s easier said than done though! I’m 46 and was diagnosed in September (Stage 2 ductal), had an MRI initially then a lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy last Tuesday, very much in the recovery period from surgery now but the wait for the results of the nodes being tested is torture. I’m expecting a call any day to go in for the appointment.
It really helps coming on here and realising you’re not alone! I wish everyone going through this all the best and hope that your surgery went well x
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
