I have just joined the forum, and wanted to say hello.

I was just diagnosed 2 days ago with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. It’s such a scary time, but trying to stay positive.

  • Hi

I was diagnosed with TNBC in April 2022 and had a lumpectomy followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

I agree that it's scary to be told that you have breast cancer but treatment for this type of cancer is excellent and very successful.

I'm happy to answer any questions and share my experiences with you if you'd like to ask me anything.

Have you been given a treatment plan yet?

  • Hello.
Thank You so much for your message.
They are hoping that I will see the Oncology Team this week.
I will need Chemotherapy and Surgery, but don’t know in what order yet.

I am taking one day at a time.

  • Hello.

Thank You so much for the positive words. It’s great to know that there’s a lot of support out there. x

  • Hello.

I hope you don’t mind me asking, but I was just wondering how long after seeing your Oncology Team did you start treatment?

Also, have you had any experience with a cold cap?
    x

  • My treatment started 4 weeks after I saw the oncologist. I should have started a week earlier but my bloods weren't right so it delayed things a week.

    I didn't cold cap.

  • Hello.
A little update. I am meeting with the Oncology team tomorrow. Hopefully, I will get a treatment plan then. The nerves are kicking in a bit.

  • Thank You so much for letting me know. It gives me a bit of an idea.

  • Hi Kezdc16ad

I was diagnosed at the beginning of July and started treatment mid August. I have to have 8 rounds of chemotherapy and then a mastectomy with full removal of lymph nodes. I have just had my 4th lot of chemotherapy so half way through.

I have been doing the cold cap therapy. Is there anything in particular you would like to know?

    Big hugs x

  • Hello.

Thank You so much for your message. It means a lot.
I met with the Oncology doctor yesterday, and my treatment is starting within 2/3 weeks.
I am having 7 rounds of Chemotherapy first.

I am going to try the Cold Cap. Is there any advice that you can give me about that?
