Hi I have just had a second mastectomy. The first one was 16 years ago.
Hi. I hope you are recovering ok? Did you find a lump or was it found on a routine mammogram? Do you need any further treatment?
Was it the same type of cancer or different?
Hi
I found a thickening/lump which was diagnosed as invasive lobular cancer.
My first cancer was invasive ductal cancer.
I’m hoping when I go back for the results that I don’t have to have chemo like the first time.
Currently still have a drain in (day 11).
I remember I had the drain in for 2 weeks so hopefully you will have that out soon.
Ah I see so different types, I wondered whether they may have been connected. 16 years is a long time to remain cancer free. Were you on any long term medication like tamoxifen etc?
Hi
I hope the drain will be out soon. I’ve had to wear an abdominal belt and take medication for three days as I am bruised from breast site to the top of my leg!
I was a bit surprised my self that they were different cancers. Both estrogen and progesterone positive HER neg
Yes tamoxifen for 2.5 years and then Exemestane for 2.5 years.
