Hey so I’ve just been put on the pathway for the 2 week fast track referral after noticing my breast looking different to the other and I’m wondering what to expect!? Gp found a lump
I’ve litrally just got the all clear (Friday) from my ovary removal after having my second surgery after having a hysterectomy (1st surgery ovaries were in situ) but was diagnosed with stage 1 endometrial cancer.
obviously this is all new hope it’s ok to be here x
Hi. I hope you are ok. I wonder if the lump has arisen as a result of ovary removal as this immediately cuts off hormones. Try not to think worst case scenario, they will be extra cautious due to the previous cancer.
You will have a mammogram and ultrasound at the breast clinic and possibly biopsy.
Thankyou so much for your reply , I did wonder this but seems to only be affecting one breast but it’s definitely crossed my mind :) I’m trying to be glass half full but there’s that nagging part of my brain going ermmmmmmm Xx
Hi Pookieboo , sorry you find yourself here, especially after just getting the all clear from endometrial cancer. It’s impossible not to think of worst case scenarios, but somehow try to remind yourself that most referrals don’t result in a cancer diagnosis. I’ve had multiple referrals over the years - nodular breasts, whatever that means!; duct ectasia (not that sure what that is either!); a fibroadenoma (benign, but needed to be removed back then); cysts; finally breast cancer. Things have changed over the years but for me the latest referral involved mammogram, ultrasound and biopsies. They told me there and then that it was very likely cancer. But with the cysts, they could tell from the ultrasound so no need for biopsies.
It’s definitely fine for you to be here by the way! I will be hoping that you are a short term member and that it all turns out to be fine. Always better to be checked out. Keep posting and let us know how it all goes. Sending love and a big virtual hug, HFxx
Thankyou so much! I’m sorry you’ve been through so much too! It does feel bizarre healing from one thing while trying to navigate the next. I’ve told very few people as I’m sure it will turn out to be nothing but your right best to get checked xxx hope your ok Thankyou for your reply x
