Advice needed-Not sure what to do?

Hi All,

Don’t really know if I’m being paranoid or it’s something I should get checked, but could really do with some advice.

I am 39 and always check myself, usually every couple of weeks, I’ve always had one breast slightly bigger than the other, and different nipple heights, but in the last week or so I’ve noticed a significant change in the size and if I’m honest the weight of my left breast.

This has always been the bigger of the two, but it is pretty noticeable both in feel and sight. It’s not painful, there’s not any noticeable skin changes or discolouration but it has come on suddenly and feels heavier

Mo had a partial hysterectomy 6 years ago, and only my ovaries  and cervix remain, so I know it’s not to do with periods, and I’ve no other symptoms.

I don’t know if it’s something I should get checked or if it’s just something I should wait and see if it goes down?

sorry if that’s a silly question but I’d rather hear from people who’ve experienced similar rather than end up down a rabbit hole of dr google!

thanks

  • Hi Jenny/

I haven't had similar but my best advice would be to make an appointment to see your GP as you've noticed a change.

  • Hi Jenny,  Yes you have come to a great place from people who have a lot of experience.  If you are worried get it checked it may be nothing but your GP would rather see you now and reassure you that wait until it’s a bigger problem.
when I went to see my GP I said I felt a fraud as all I had was dryness on my nipple no lumps or bumps GP thought she could feel something and referred me.  Two tumers in my left breast caught very early.

Make an appointment you will save yourself a lot of worry.

    Good luck Xxx
