Hi all,
wanted to say hello and join the community, I had my diary round of treatment for breast cancer on 20th may. It’s hit me really hard, the nausea, fatigue. I have a pic line which is getting used to. I am tired but get irritable. Just needed to vent to people who have experienced similar.
Hi firefly23,
Welcome, hang in there. Treatment is gruelling at times. Listen to your body rest when needed. Take your medication given. Keep a diary of side effects to discuss at next treatment. They have a tablet to help with every side effect.
I used to feel horrible till day 7-10 then would pick up for a week and a half before next treatment. I was on 3 weekly cycle EC. I used to take lots of naps, slept a lot of the time hoping to wake up feeling better. Do what you need to get through the not so good days. I was clad of the picc line as saved with needles getting jabbed into me. You do eventually get used to it.
I am now in remission and back at work a couple months ago. I was diagnosed this time last year. Has lumpectomy and sentinels removed, chemo radiotherapy and now on Letrozole.
My best friends were effervescent paracetamol, buscopan and my antisickness medication.
I wish you well in your recovery. Be kind to yourself. Happy to answers any questions regarding my recovery if you need to know. Sending hugs. Xx
