Hi everyone,

New to the group, looks to me like a lovely group to get some advice and hopefully make some new friends in the same situation as me.

Thanks

  • Hi. Welcome.   Have you had your lumpectomy yet?  I was diagnosed with breast cancer last July.  Had 6 sessions of chemo, lumpectomy in January and due to start 5 days of radiotherapy the end of the month.  How are you feeling?   Lisa

  • Hi Lisa sorry for the late reply, yes I had my lumpectomy on the 24th March, yesterday I saw the consultant who removed the plasters to my scars and was very happy with how they are healing , but I had a concern of there being some painful swelling,  to which she told me to apply an ibuprofen gel to the area, today it feels much worse so I'm going to contact the breast care nurses tomorrow for advice.  Other than that it's been all fine.Got an appointment next week about my radiotherapy sessions,  so fingers crossed everything is OK.  Really great to speak to someone else in the same boat so to speak, I hope all goes well for you too , Mandy

  • Thanks for the warm welcome Happy feet
