Hello. For the past month I’ve noticed my right breast is larger than normal ( it’s always been the bigger and more dense one) it would hurt when I woke up in the AM. Upon monthly check I found an area where I could feel a pea size lump. Originally I thought this was all hormonal related as I am 6 m post of from a partial hysterectomy ( kept ovaries but I can feel something’s off) both boobs feel hormonal but agin the right is bigger and more heavy. However no rash redness oozing normal nipple no other symptoms

my OB is sending me for a mammogram with ultrasound and I’m pretty nervous. The Internet is a terrible place sometimes because upon googling for what I first thought was a hormonal imbalance led me to IBC and my anxiety is getting the best of me. Any input, setting me straight prayers anything would be appreciated

  • Hi Anicola3

Welcome to the forum, I'm Daisy53 one of the Community Champions on this forum.  I'm sorry to hear that you may be facing a cancer diagnosis.  Unfortunately Dr Goggle is not your friend when it comes to researching Breast Cancer as the information is often out of date and always paints the worst case scenario.

Most lumps turn out to be benign but if it does turn out to be breast cancer know that it's very treatable these days and they are always coming up with new treatments for the disease.

I've had Breast Cancer twice, once in my left breast and once in my right breast and after having treatment I come out of the other side of it and I am currently Cancer free.

While you are waiting for your appointment keep yourself busy doing the things you love. If you find yourself unable to cope don't hesitate to come back on here or ring the helpline on 0808 808 0000 and you will always find a listening ear.  And if you are looking for any reliable information on breast cancer use this site and another side called Breast Cancer now as they would have the latest information on Breast Cancer.

Wishing you the best of luck with your appointment.

    Best wishes

For many of us fear of the unknown is the worst part. Try not to google everything. If you have questions ask your doctor, specialist, other medical expert or one of the regulars here.

Whilst you wait to hear the outcome of your mammogram you’ll be in my prayers.
