Hello All, diagnosed following a routine mammogram, left breast , stage 2b, HER2 negative, hormone positive. All was a shock, had the lumpectomy and lymph nodes clear , no metastasis . The oncotype came back 26 , showing 16% chance of recurrence , being offered chemotherapy … I am so afraid and feel it would be too much for me to bear given other conditions I have … further being offered Ribociclib .

I am still recovering from the surgery and am in a horrible state of anxiety , not knowing what to do …

  • Hi Anjoulie

Sorry to hear about your condition and here. However this is a great place for support and advice.

I can appreciate that you are scared. No matter how you found out, it all comes as a shock and your world turns upside down.

There are many of us who have multiple conditions and having treatment. I am one those. You should talk to your BC nurse and/or Oncologist about what it is that you are concerned about. The specialist are there to help you get through this, not just about treatment.

I can't say chemo is pleasant, but before each cycle you have a review with the Oncologist to see how the previous cycle went and they will adjust the plan accordingly.

Talk to someone about your fears. It will help with some of the anxiety.

Sending lots of Hugging & support

  • Hi, I'm one of the champions here in this group and wanted to say hello.  I hope your recovery from surgery is going well, but it's completely understandable to be scared and uncertain about the next steps.  Macmillan have a wonderful team available on the phone if you want to chat things through, which often can help at these times.  The number is 0800 808 0000. Best wishes
