Hello All
I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to make it to the breast cancer forum!
I was diagnosed with Stage 1, Grade 3 HER2+ BC last October
I’ve had surgery (2 lumps) and am 5 weeks into chemo - Paclitaxel, Trastuzumab and Zoledronic Acid
I’m feeling reasonably calm - probably buoyed by my surgeon who is astonishingly positive!
The first couple of chemo sessions were a bit tricky but I’ve settled down pretty well.
My hair has just started to fall out in fairly industrial quantities - and I’m thinking a lot about types of head covering/wigs
It’s so interesting to read about everyone else’s experience
Hi SusanHB,
My hair fell out at start of my 2nd cycle of EC.
I bought some Beanie hats which are comfortable to wear indoors. I wear my wig when outdoors or going anywhere.
Everyone is different, some people happy to wear nothing, others have nice scarves. There's are lots of online services now selling them.
My chemo finished September and radiotherapy in October. My hair is growing back black, it was brown previously. It's only about 1cm all over just now so still wearing my hats and wig.
Good luck in you choice, wishing you well in your recovery xx
Thank you. My departing hair was quite wild so I’m curious to see what it looks like when it starts to grow back! Good to hear your positive story x
