Hi everyone.

Not sure what else Im meant to tell you. Im 48, im mum of 4, 2 are adults, 2 are ND kids at home. Im thankful to have a wonderful support network of family around me.

but I am struggling more than I can let them know. Im hope you all might have some coping techniques for me?

  • Hi itsjusP,

Sorry to hear you are one of the community. It is a scary journey. But a doable one.

You've started your recovery journey with your op complete. What is the rest of your treatment plan.

This forum is very supportive, also use the macmillan nurses and cancer care who are really good and always available. Xx

  • Hi there,

I dont have a treatment plan yet. A sample was sent off to Texas of all places LOL and this is to decide between chemo and radio but the results are not back yet. I was told 2/3 weeks but it was 4 weeks on monday. I rang and was just told as soon as they know, theyll update me which is fair enough but the waiting is awful. I know nothing will be done before christmas at this stage but itd give peace of mind to know whats coming.

    xx

  • Hi

Yes the waiting is torture. It's a stress like no other.

I was diagnosed stage 3 her2neg erpostitve prpositive in May this year. I had the worst thoughts imaginable in my head.

However, I have had my lumpectomy and sentinels removed in June. Chemotherapy July to September and radiotherapy in October. I am now on Letrozole for 5 years. 6monthly bone infusions and I am in remission.

Once you have a diagnosis, treatment follows quite quickly. It's amazing the treatments available now.

Be kind to yourself, pamper yourself as a wee distraction whilst waiting for your treatment plan.

I wish you well in your recovery. Happy to answer any questions if helpful xc
