Hi,  I cannot understand where to do my profile. Joining this community today is a big thing for me, and took a while to search through before taking this step.

In March, my mammogram was clear, July I knew something was not right and got an appointment and tests via scan and mammogram, swiftly followed by biopsies.  In August the results were that I had cancer in the breast and in the lymph nodes, so I had ER and HER2 positive graded as 2.   As we received the diagnosis, the plan to have chemotherapy then surgery came, like the plan was a foregone conclusion. Following several more tests, scans and MRI, the information and decisions were signed off and the plan for EC of three cycles of three weeks over nine weeks. Paclitaxel is for the next stage over nine weeks and then a mastectomy.

I found myself getting more anxious as the next stage of weekly chemo sessions are looming, which I why I joined this community, where I can feel comfortable asking some of my many questions.  So far I am feeling some sense of relief, in the hope that weekly was found to be easier.  My weekend will be more enjoyable. Thank you for baring with me to get this done.

  • Hi Mangoes,

I’ve not had Her2+ breast cancer but there is a very good thread on breast cancer now that you will find useful. It is titled HER2+ and need some buddies. Posts are from women like yourself who have taken the same cancer journey that you are now on.

  • Hi Shade,

I will visit the HER2+ and hopefully as I learn more, will consider the buddying. I am at reception level of this learning journey.

  • Hi , I have Her2 and not really sure how to navigate my way through, it seems like you get over one hurdle and then another one comes along for you to deal with, I had my operation a month ago and will be having radio therapy in a weeks time, and then the dreaded tablets for 5 years and probably side effects, at least on this forum you can speak to people going through similar symptoms as yourself and I think that helps a lot , so please keep asking questions that you are struggling with, I’m not great with technology so struggle sometimes, but this forum does help and you relalise you are not on your own

  • Hi, the thread although entitled buddies it is about women’s experiences, fears and questions as they navigate the anxieties, fears and treatments of HER2+ breast cancer.

  • If you tap on the green armchair top right a menu appears where you can create a profile.  You can update it whenever you like as things change.

    Good luck with everything x
