Hi All,
I found a lump in my left breast a couple of weeks ago and I honestly thought nothing of it. I do tend to get cysts in both and have since I was about 14.
2 weeks passed and i decided as it hadn't changed to go get it checked, dr has referred to breast clinic.
Although I have been through the clinic before for a fatty lump this time I feel it was completely different when seeing the doctor.
I was told two weeks and I'd have an appointment which last time I had it through the post about a week later and then the following week the actual appointment.
Within 3 hrs of leaving I had a call to book me in for Tuesday but it was how the Dr was acting that's worried me usually they are I thinknits a cyst but we will send you to double check this time she said if I need to talk in the next couple of weeks call and ask for an app with her and just her whole attitude very empathetic.
Although putting on a brave face I am so worried, as well as the initial lump I went in to be checked she found 2 more one to the underneath of my breast and another in my armpit.
Can't help but be overthinking all the what ifs.
Hi Mommyofboys , welcome to the forum, sorry you find yourself here but it’s a great place for support and shared experiences. I hope you’ll be a short term visitor and that your clinic appointment shows up nothing of concern. That’s still the most likely scenario as most breast lumps are not cancer. But if it turns out to be cancer, you will find lots of support here and breast cancer is very treatable nowadays. Please try not to google! Much of what’s out there is out of date or just wrong, and may never have any relevance to you.
I can’t tell you not to worry as it’s only natural. You’re in the horrible limbo land of waiting for that appointment. Somehow the days will pass and Tuesday will come, when at least you’ll have more of an idea re what you’re dealing with. I hope it’s the only appointment you need! Like you I’ve had many breast clinic referrals over the years, including one in my late 40s when my marble type lump was regarded as ‘very suspicious’ right up to when it was removed. Turned out to be a fibroadenoma (benign). I think scans are more accurate these days so I’m sure you’ll have a reasonable idea after your appointment. Can only suggest you keep busy till then! Sending love and a big virtual hug, HFxx
