Hi I am currently 8 weeks post lumpectomy and due to start chemotherapy next week. My emotions are all over the place and the minute and I feel so scared of chemotherapy anyone else felt this way x
Hi Dazoclb
Welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear that you've been diagnosed with breast cancer and need chemo. While the thoughts of chemo is scary while it's not easy it is doable. You will be given medications to help counteract any possible side effects that you may have and will also get the number of your chemo unit to ring if you feel very unwell between chemo sessions and well as an out of hours number to ring should you need it.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.
Best wishes

Hi Dazoclb
i am also HER2 positive and 11 weeks post lumpectomy and reduction in other side. I start chemo on Monday. Yes the thought of it scares me, but, I have come to terms with it, and just want to get it started. None of us know how it will affect us until we have it. If it means that any rogue cells are destroyed then good. It doesn’t last forever .
Virtual hug for you. Xx
.
Hi
I had my op in June and have had 2 cycles of EC chemo now. The chemo is doable and they give you medications to combat any side effects. I've not had many side effects from the chemo but have from the injections. However on a plus side staff have said there are different injection regimes that can be taken.
I've just lost my hair following my 2nd cycle. It's fine I thought it would have affected me more but I love my wig.
Be kind to yourself, talk all your concerns with your medical and nursing team. Their aim is to get you through treatment symptom free.
Good luck. I worried terriblely also but am managing it. Focus on the end result. It killing anything nasty xx
