I had my first chemo cycle two days ago and the next day took the first of 7 daily injections of Accofil Filgrastim to build up white blood cells. About an hour later I felt dreadful, severe shortness of breath, faint, dizzy, sweating but a low fever of 35.4. Anyone else had a reaction like this? I'm dreading the next injection in half an hour. Rang chemo hotline and they advised to take paracetamol.
I had symptoms similar to yours the first time I had the injection and I am sure mine were due to severe anxiety since I didn't have them since my 3rd injection on! However, if your symptoms persist do speak with your oncologist about that! The very best of luck with your treatment! Big hug,
Lana xx
Thank you so much. Took paracetamol and injected half an hour ago and so far so good. I am just sitting still.
Thank you very much. Today the injection was better. I just sat still but feel wobbly and nauseous. I suppose its just the body getting used to it.
Thank you very much. Today the injection reaction was not so severe. I sat still and feel weird, wobbly and nauseous. I suppose its just your body getting used to it.
I'm glad it went well! Sometimes not knowing what to expect makes us very anxious and we experience exactly the symptoms you described! I'm speaking from personal experience too! Fingers crossed the rest of your treatment goes well! x
