Hi looking for hair care advice. Currently cold capping and I have the curliest dry hair and don’t know what to do with it on the basis I can’t straighten or style. Are there any recommended leave in conditioners or serums I could use to tame it? Any hair styling tips. It’s so awful I’m considering not having any hair a better option but in reality would love to keep as much as I can through treatment. I usually straighten my hair so feel awful with a birds nest on my head! Any helpful tips very much appreciated!!!!
Hi Giddy234
I did scalp cooling during my chemo in 2022.
It is tough when you can't do what you normally do to style it. I kept a lot of hair but after my last cycle it became really dry, frizzy and thinner. It was also at different lengths as although I did shed during each cycle- I had regrowth during chemo as well.
I used a spray in children's conditioner and it really helped. I also used dry shampoo each day- only a little but I used it to help style my hair- rather than to clean it. It just made it feel a bit more manageable. I also had the ends trimmed which helped.
