Hi I was diagnosed end of November, still struggling to believe it, is a bit of a gap at the moment before starting treatment. Should start beginning of January 24, I feel well and normal, sometimes I wonder did I imagine it, then I see all the letters from the hospital and know it’s real.
Hi Dakota, I've also just been diagnosed, it's such a terrible shock isn't it. Totally understand you feeling it isn't real. I couldn't understand how I have cancer when I feel so well. My consultant explained that's one of the differences between breast and other cancers. With it you can be really fit and well with no signs you have it.
I start chemo first week of January. Hope your treatment goes well
Hi Dakota
Like you Im having chemotherapy for triple negative breast cancer starting in Jan 24. I can’t quite believe this is happening as the early diagnosis was that I had a small tumour which was successfully removed with a lumpectomy in November. My lymph nodes were clear so I was beginning to breathe more easily but then the triple negative flag appeared and now it’s a much more challenging path ahead.
It seems so strange as I have no cancerous cells at the moment as far as I know but need to have chemo as TNBC is so aggressive and to prevent recurrence. I feel fine and have recovered really well from surgery but now I feel as my poor body is gong to have to endure so much. As you say, the pack of hospital letters with all possible side effects is so daunting.
I really hope all goes well for you and let me know when your treatment starts.
Hi,
I was diagnosed TNBC in October, and had my lumpectomy 2 days ago. I haven't been told for sure but expect chemotherapy in February. Praying for clear margins and negative lymph nodes.
Struggling with the look of my breast today, looks so deflated and mangled.
Hoping for better days soon x
The one thing I've learnt in the last 6 weeks is that there are definitely good days and bad days xxx
Definitely ups and downs.
I’m hoping you have good news post surgery.
TNBC changes everything but I have had very good support and advice from the cancer care team so I feel reassured that I’m on the right path but it’s overwhelming at times.
Let us know how you get on xxx
