Hi all, I’m a newbie. Found a lump in my breast at beginning of sept. Mammogram showed another area. Ultrasound another in one lymph node and MRI showed another suspect area. I’m having chemotherapy and immunotherapy before either lumpectomy or mastectomy- still awaiting last biopsy result. I started my therapies yesterday ( I’m of the opinion that the word chemotherapy is made up of 2 parts and I’m going to concentrate on the positive part, the word THERAPY! ) .I’m trying the cold cap. I’ll be having a therapy every week for the next 12 weeks. A complete whirlwind and the alarm on my phone has never been set for so many things! I already have a file for all my info!

  • Sorry to hear about your diagnosis - appointments at the early stages are endless and it doesn’t anppear to end despite I’ve had my surgery and having chemotherapy atm !

Good luck with your treatments and I hope the cold cap works for you x

  • Hi, Bore da

It's a good idea to keep a diary of who said what at what appointment as they all blur once the fatigue sets in!  Loads of appointments, some of which will feel unnecessary (could have been a phone call) and some that are not long enough!  Do your research and have questions ready, this is YOUR treatment plan and you need to understand it and be ready to question it if necessary.  I have had lots of additional support via St David's Hospice drop in centre (Bangor), crystal healing, reflexology and a physio movement group.  Everyone says the same, you need to be a strong self-advocate to smooth this journey.  Best wishes xx

  • Hi, very similar path. Found my lump and had it confirmed. Spoke to consultant today and have a plan in place. Just need a couple of tests before the chemoTHERAPY. Sticking with it been a therapy. Love that.

My pals are saying I have to kick cancers ass. So here’s to that.

  • Wel helo bore da - its nearly a nos da from me as Im not sleeping well so i can only just keep eyes open after 10pm. Thinking of you - wish you werent here as lots have said to me. • Best of luck, I found things happened quite quickly and it looks the same way for you. Won’t be long before you have an action plan for your therapy too. Thumbsup
