Hi

I have just joined this group, lovely to meet you all :)

but not under the best circumstances:(

I am two weeks post opp of lump ectompy and flap reconstruction and full lymph clearances

I am doing ok each day gets bit better.

Waiting now to meet my oncologist and see what the next stage of treatment will be . Hopefully my clear margin results will be ok.

Emma

  • Welcome Emma despite the circumstances.

Glad to here that you’re doing ok after your op - taking one day at a time is always the best option.

I had a single mx & full node clearance with clear margins - I saw my surgeon for my results & not the oncologist.

I hope you get your appointment soon and don’t have too long to wait for your results x

  • Hi Emma and welcome to the forum.  As you said it’s not a place we wanted to join, but you will receive a lot of support and advice on this forum.  As Joules said take it one day at a time and look after yourself.  Make sure you do your exercises every day as this definitely helps with your recovery.  I wish you well for your results.  Sending hugs x

  • Hi thankyou so much for your lovely message

  • Hi just a quick one did you not have chemotherapy.if it's ok to ask ?

  • Morning Emma - due to the size of my tumour (100mm) and the amount of nodes which were infected I had to go down the chemo route too. After having multiple scans I was thankful there were no further spreading x

I have my 5th chemo on Friday with my last one in Dec - when I was informed it would take 18 weeks it seemed like ages away however time seems to have gone super fast Blush I’ve also got radiotherapy in the new year but have no dates yet.

Everyone on this forum are super friendly so don’t be scared to ask questions and try not to Google as that will unnecessarily worry you more than need to be during this time x

Take care and let us know how you get on next week, Julie x

  • No, mine was caught early at routine mammogram and only 8mm, grade 2.  But downgraded after two ops for clear margins.  So no chemo required.  I had radiotherapy and as oestrogen positive on Letrozole for 5 years xx
