Hi I was diagnosed with symptomatic grade 2-3 triple negative breast cancer in May. Have had 12 weeks of weekly chemo and now on number 2 of 4 rounds of 3 weekly EC which has made me Feel very Ill both times - first dose was in hospital for 5 days with neutropenia and infection. Completely wiped out and been in bed into second week now and feel slightly more human but still so wiped out she can’t do anything. Any advice? Also, o have responded well to the chemo and there is no sign of cancer left and need to make decision about surgery - breast conserving surgery with tissue mobilisation and further cancer treatment radiotherapy or a mastectomy? I just want the best possible outcome to reduce risk of recurrence and the surgeon says both options have similar outcomes in terms of recurrence and survival. Has anyone had experience of the same diagnosis and can advice. It is all so overwhelming trying to make the right decision x
Hi, good to hear you're through with chemo though it's tough when you're feeling exhausted. For me, I chose the meats invasive option, so when chemo wiped out the active cancer cells I went for a lumpectomy and radiation. We're all different and have different perspectives. Good luck with your own decision
