Hello everyone,  A routine mammogram (my first  - just turned 50 3 weeks ago) detected a small cancer in my left breast. No lump... not symptoms... I absolutely bricked it. And when I found this online community ... it made my year. What a beautiful place to share, talk and support. I am also a type 2 diabetic ... and I keep shaming myself with thoughts of "Why did I not manage my type 2 better!". I am finding peace with it now and am being much kinder to myself. Thank you everyone for listening.

  • Hi Bego welcome to the forum and sorry to hear what has happened for you  but so glad we have Mammograms as mine was like yours and no symptoms nor any visible signs so we are the lucky ones getting  picked up early and treated. So glad that you have found us though we are a friendly bunch and all in the same boat so that helps as you dont have to keep explaining yourself we all get it.

Why are you shaming yourself about your diabetes Im not aware of that being related to Breast Cancer so dont be hard on yourself we all have something that we could hang this beast onto but it is so random that it often doesnt have any rhyme nor reason to it so be gentle with yourself.
