I am lying awake at 5 am following chemo yesterday ,thinking about the future and the x3 more EC chemo I have planned.Radiotherapy after that .I worry about the impact this has on my two daughters 23 and 26 years old who support me through treatments .The treatment prior to this last one caused a severe anaphylactic shock and I was blue lighted to Resuscitation in A&E my daughter had to follow the ambulance. This plays on my mind and keeps me awake .I also developed Sepsis from the first treatment last July again my daughter had to help .The side effects Irritated bladder and steroids affect sleep the most I do put hypnosis on you tube which helps occasionally to get asleep.I did have a lumpectomy in May and thought that was it but my oncotype was 30 so hey ho that was when it really hit me how serious it was.I try to get through the 10 days following chemo the best way I can dealing with the symptoms.Night times can be difficult although having my 15 year old dog next to me is nice but tonight he has a belly squeaks from something he has found to eat or been given as daughter was here following my chemo x
Hi JackielD1961
Welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear that you’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer and that you had a severe reaction to the treatment. Hopefully it won’t happen again. But if it does your oncologist will either reduce the dose further or stop treatment altogether.
Wishing you the best of luck with the rest of your treatment.
Best wishes
