  • Hi Ged

Welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer.  When you feel up to it why not tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey as it helps us to give you whatever support you need.

There is a great paper which I have read by a Dr Peter Harvey called "After the treatment finishes - when what?" which sums up perfectly what the post treatment world is like.  Here's a link to the article: After the Treatment Finishes - Then What? . .

If you have a Maggie's centre or another cancer centre near you why not give them a call or call in to talk to someone about how you are feeling.  They can arrange counselling for you if that's what you want.

Wishing you the best of luck with everything.

    Best wishes

  • Hi Ged, welcome to the forum.  It is not easy dealing with all that we have to go through.  I personally am surprised how much it all affects your mind and the things you imagine and can’t stop thinking about.  I am normally a very strong, resilient and positive thinking person, but this has really got into my head.  You try to just get on with your life and everyday things,  it it still creeps in there now and again.  Please read the article Daisy mentioned.  It is great to read and does sum up how a lot of us feel.  I try to take it day by day and try to have more positive thoughts, then negative.  But it’s not easy.  Have you a Maggie’s or similar centre nearby?  Perhaps a counsellor would help.  I might try that if I can.  I wish you well. Sending hugs xx
