Hi I'm new here and just wanted to say hello.
I have been diagnosed with breast cancer and I am on chemo at the moment which should be finished early Dec then op then radiotherapy.
I've been doing ok so far but started a new treatment on Wednesday and it's been so hard.
I live with my husband and although he does his best he has no idea how to look after a sick person. I dispair sometimes.
I have a very small family and small circle of friends. My daughter and her husband are wonderful but they both work full time and have 3 small children so they are not available at my beck and call. I dont have a lot of support unfortunately and friends I have had for over 30 and 40 years seem to be avoiding me. I think they are not able to cope but that doesn't help me. I have one friend who has been amazing. She is my guardian angel. I would have been lost without her.
Anyway that's my story so far and I hope I will be able to get some support from this site.

Welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Do you have a Maggie's centre or another cancer centre near you. If you do why not call in and have a chat about what you are going through. The friends may be avoiding you because they don't know what to say to you. It's good that you have one friend who has obviously very supportive.
You will find us a very friendly and supportive bunch of people on this forum and you will also find great support from the Macmillan volunteers on this site.
