Hi and welcome to the forum. Hope you are recovering well from your lumpectomy, how are you feeling now? Do you have a treatment plan yet? The waiting is the worse bit isn’t it. Keep doing the exercises they give you, definitely helps. Hope all goes ok moving forward. Sending hugs x
Was feeling ok but very emotional today for some reason. Operation went well and advised results and follow up in about 4-5 weeks. The waiting is definitely the longest and no idea on treatment plan yet. Doing the exercises regular as a physio (practice what I preach for once)! Think I over did it this morning thinking I could clean kitchen cupboards! Now resting up! How’s things with you and where are you at this moment? Xxx
That’s good that you are a physio so you know how important the exercises are. It is easy to overdo things though, I’m the same, have had to ease off doing things when I know I can’t, not yet anyway. I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy beginning of July, but had to have another lumpectomy last week because they did not get clear enough margins. Went well again. Luckily the nodes were clear. The staff were so nice and looked after me well both times. Recovering ok, arm still plays up, especially in the evenings. I keep doing the exercises and I have good movement, but feels like you need to keep stretching it. It will improve over time I’m sure. 2 weeks now hopefully for the results again. Then should find out if I still need radiotherapy. Please do rest up as much as you can. I hope to go back to work next week, so resting as much as I can xx
Wow back to work next week, good for you that’s amazing. I work in the community for people who are in crisis situations and need support with therapy nursing etc so need to get back to 100% as soon as possible. I have heard of further lumpectomy procedures and glad to hear it’s all over for you now with surgery intervention. They have advised radiotherapy is required for 4 weeks daily, but have to wait for results of surgery before that is commenced. Was yours picked up by yourself or mammogram? Hope you don’t mind me asking xxx
I can understand why you would need to be 100%. I am office based, so should be ok to go back. I have been off 7 weeks now and to be honest, want to get back to some sort of normality. Mine was a routine mammogram, no symptoms or worries. I have been called back a few times, and always ok in the end, so was a bit of shock this time to be diagnosed. Xx
Had lumpectomy and reconstruction 19th July lymph node removed 23rd August I have oncologist appointment 4th October, but really need normality back in my life when for job interview 2 weeks ago was totally honest about my situation, started work this morning, knackered but so needed to be feeling normal.
