Hello. I was diagnosed with BC in 2017 and have just had recall on my 6 year mammogram with an 8mm cat 4 (suspicious) mass showing up in my other boob. I’m absolutely devastated. I’m meant to be starting a new job on the 18th. The prospect of facing treatment again is beyond terrifying - I’m not actually sure I can do it. I haven’t really moved since I found this out yesterday. I seem to be in some sort of shutdown mode.
Hi, I’m sorry to read this rotten news for you. Not sure if you follow Twitter, but Dr Liz O’Riordan has started to post a new series of video blogs following her second local occurrence. She describes the feelings that you have mentioned, so I think if you watch those, you might, maybe, feel a little less alone. She has had surgery again and is on more treatment, although she seems able to do the roles that she does nowadays.
It looks like it is on You Tube also - this is ‘week 2’ of the series

Hello Bush,
Me too!
You sound as if you are in shock with this latest news.
I had BC 2 years ago.
I have an indeterminate U3 nodule in my thyroid and surgery to remove that with half of my thyroid on 26th (biopsy took 2 months to do and failed to diagnose so I’m going ahead with surgery because I won’t wait any longer for fear it’s malignant).
At the same time my surveillance mammogram has detected suspicious calcifications in my “good” boob needing a stereotactic biopsy this week.
so I totally get how you are feeling. I feel I’ve had no time to recover emotionally from the last time around.
I think we will both find a way to get through it Bush - we don’t have much choice.
I get really low but then bounce back up quite quickly with surprisingly some fight still left. We can be quite resilient when we have to be.
I hope you can find a way to manage the new job scenario. I work also and know how hard it is to work and deal with this all.
my heart goes out to you.
Freddie (sad also!)
