Hi all, first time on here. Recently diagnosed with invasive ductal breast cancer, Her2 negative. Awaiting these results is very tough, mind going in all directions at the moment
Had lumpectomy and reconstruction on 19th July told that I needed lymph nodes removed 2 weeks later, had op on 23rd August get results this Thursday it's definitely the unknown that get to you still waiting to know if I will need chemotherapy, but trying to focus on the positive is the only way once it's out and your getting treated.
I have my wobbly moments and cry but trying to focus on the future.
Good luck with your diagnosis and treatment ️
Hi Shirl Valentine
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Just take things one day at a time and cry and shout and scream if you need too. Also keep coming to the forum even if you just want to vent. We’re all here for you.
Best wishes

The waits are so hard.
I don’t know whether this will help, but when I was in your situation, I found it helped me to adopt the attitude that these next two weeks were a kind of gift. If the news wasn’t what I hoped, then it was an extra two weeks before having to face that fully, and if it was what I hoped, then it would have been a waste not to use those two weeks to the full. Of course, I couldn’t keep up that superhuman attitude all of the time, but it did make sense in my brain and helped me to endure that tortuous wait.
I also found that distraction was the key. To become distracted with something be it a captivating TV programme or doing something absorbing all helped half a day or two hours or even one hour go by taking me nearer to that much awaited appointment.
