Hi, I'm new to all this and not really sure what's going on, I feal numb but trying to be strong for my daughter and family, I have been diagnosed with breast cancer and instead of an op to remove the lump in in my right breast the doctor has decided to start with chemo, I had a CT scan last Friday and waiting results of that, in the mean time I just feal like I'm in limbo, can't sleep or eat. I'm 49 and a single mum. Anyone else in the same position now or in the past, I think I just need someone to talk to!!!

  • Hi Jax, sorry you have had to come here, but welcome hugs, its a great place to start to understand what next. stay off google.

i am a surgery first but know a few here have similar diagnosis, and you will find lots of helpful people who have had similar experiences and always happy to help.

  • Hi Jax, I'm 45 and was diagnosed with Grade 3 invasive ductual breast cancer oestrogen positive and her2 positive and has gone into some lymph nodes after ct and mri scans it was staged at 2b and hasn't spread elsewhere. They have started me off with chemo 1st so I am on ec-t chemo for 6 cycles every 3 weeks and when I start the 4th cycle will also have phesgo injections every 3 weeks for 18 cycles, will have surgery and then radiotherapy. Mine is in the right breast as well.

Wednesday I will have my 3 cycle of ec and then from cycle 4 will be on the t part which will be docetaxel.

  • Hi, welcome to the club that no one wants to join.   Like you, I had chemo first and then surgery. If you click on my name you can read my story or if you’re really bored, I blogged all the way through so you can check that out too here Cancer blog

I was diagnosed 2 and a half years ago and I managed pretty well through treatment and am now back at a busy job with lots of travel and getting on with life. Looking back, the first few weeks were by far the hardest, so I hope you get through these quickly and into a treatment plan. Best wishes

  • Hi, thankyou I will certainly look at your story, my head is such a mess right now but I'm hoping I will get stronger as the weeks go on.
