Hi Sharlotte, I had 15 days of a combo of boost and normal radiotherapy. The boost was targeted at the area where the tumour was. As the machine went round me it did both types together at the same time in each session. The machine was programmed so knew the different areas which were having different grays. One of my friends had her boost separately and that was done after her lower dose. Maybe different hospitals do it the other way round. Have a chat with your radiographer as they would be the one to know. Wishing you all the best.
Thanks Cuffcake. It was all a bit new last week, but at least I'll know what to expect this week. I speak with the radiotherapists this week and have an appointment with the oncologist after the last treatment so I'll speak to him as well.
