I'm new on here so have no idea what I'm doing! I'm bad with technology at the best of times.
I was diagnosed with stage 1 oestrogen and progesterone receptor positive breast cancer one year ago. I had a lumpectomy, radiotherapy and Tamoxifen. I started having spotting with Tamoxifen and so was advised to come off it. I had checks and a scan and have an ovarian cyst which is although is fine, if it gets bigger it may become a problem. It could have caused the mild spotting but it could have easily been my period trying to come through.
Being on Tamoxifen for 10 months, I never had a period. Before breast cancer, they had been slowing down over a two year period. Just a slight trace of brown blood for two days tops each month (sorry about the graphic detail). I've been off Tamoxifen over 8 weeks and I have chosen to start zoladex injections and anastrozole but I'm not sure when that will be yet. I have had a trace of blood whilst wiping today and am aware that my periods maybe returning (until I get the zoladex).My question is, what were other lady's periods like after coming off Tamoxifen please? I just don't know my body anymore. I am up to date with smears etc and my gynae health was checked a month ago during my scan (drs did checks too the month before that). I'm nearly 46 so think my periods will be lessening and lessening but I'd love reassurance that what I'm experiencing is normal. I've sent a swab off today just incase. Many thanks, Maria

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
