Hi,

i was recently diagnosed with breast cancer with bone metastases. I am commencing medical treatment at the moment. Is there anyone on here, who is a few years along a similar path, please?

thank you!

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer which has spread to your bones.

I hope you don't mind me recommending that you also join and post in the secondary breast cancer group as you'll then connect directly with others whose breast cancer has spread.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    ((hugs))

  • Ok, will do, thank you!

  • Really sorry to hear your diagnosis. I’m not in the same position but I wanted to share that I had chemo at the same time as a lady who had bone mets and BC. She was 40 and had been diagnosed at 35. She was working full time and having treatment every 3 weeks which she said she was coping with very well. She looked like there was nothing wrong with her, it was something to see. She went on holiday and pretty much lived a normal life. Her cancer was well controlled, it gave me great hope to see somebody living with cancer in the truest form of the phrase. I hope you have the same experience, I know it’s hard to know as although we all have BC, we are all different, all the best to you xx

  • Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to send me such a positive and thoughtful message that gives me hope!
    xx
