Secondary breast cancer to liver

Hi I was recently diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in the liver after 15 years from initial diagnosis of grade 1 invasive ductal carcinoma with one lymph node involved,  I had a mastectomy followed by chemo and then tamoxifen for 5 years.

Recent ct scan revealed 2 lesions 6.6cm and 2.9cm. I have no symptoms yet. I don't have any symptoms yet.

Is there anyone else in a similar situation as this is devastating,  frightening and the thought of treatment for rest of life very depressing.

  • Hi Cedes,

I am so sorry for your diagnosis, this is the most terrible thing to hear - we all know that so well! - but you must not feel so down and depressed, especially if the secondary cancers are early stages. Do your doctors already know the staging or you are still to go through the usual tests to find out the stages of the new cancers? Please stay positive, with proper treatment patients with metastatic breast cancer live for many years and even decades! Stay in touch if this helps! There are so many inspiring ladies here who are in situations similar to yours! Big hug, keep me/us posted! XX

    1. Hi Daisy thanks so much for your response,  I'm waiting to find out if its her2 or er positive , then treatment will be either tablets or chemo.
    2. It's now stage 4 advanced.
  • I have 2 secondaries of a similar size in my liver. I hadn’t even finished treatment for my primary breast cancer when the first appeared. I had early stage TNBC without lymph node involvement. It was grade 3 and I had vascular invasion.. I have had an unsuccessful microwave ablation and am now on immunotherapy plus chemo. Wishing you all the best.
