Good morning lovely people

I have just joined. I had a mastectomy in February and they reconstructed using my skin tissue from my stomach. Since I started tamoxifen I have had awful bloating and loss of appetite. I stopped taking tamoxifen 5 days ago but will try another brand for one more month to see if that helps. I am back exercising and eating very healthily. Yet as the day goes on I feel my stomach swelling. It feels like a pregnancy stomach. Is this common? Any tips or suggestions? Food is one of life’s pleasures and I hope this lack of appetite is not a permanent thing! Thanks very much Pray

  • Hi sorry to hear that, you should call Macmillan and ask for advice or your GP. It's great your exercising keep motivated hope you get some Answers I'm sure others will comment soon. Big hugs x

  • Not easy having that, I wonder if it's to do the surgery. I changed from Letrozole to Tamoxifen, initially it affected my mood. I do feel better now. My surgery was 6 mths ago. My arm pit was the worse thing. Didn't get bloating but I did put weight on. It's coming off now I'm not eating winter Suze meals and being more active.

Keep going with them until they work it out. They have prob seen something like it before. Xxx

  • Hi Sabrina, does it get better with time? And do doctors always recommend to stay on that medication for 5 years? I'll ask my doctor about that soon, but I would like to know how it really feels. Hug, xx

  • Five yrs is standard practice. They can try a different version if needed. My oncologist got it wrong about my osteoporosis diagnosis. Didn't believe I have it. My knee is much better I Tamoxifen. Xx
