Hi, I have just done my 2nd chemo session, managed to survive the cold cap on both occasions but my hair is thinning out really quickly. Can’t decide whether to get it cut really short, shave it right down or just carry on and bear with it along with the cold cap. Sussed out my bad days and good days but managing to get out for a walk on my bad days . Does anyone use any supplements for their hair and nails, any suggestions. My taste buds have headed for the hills apart from ginger!

  • Starting my treatment 2nd June I have been using polybalm on my nails it is expensive but my nails were in a terrible condition l was told to try it and to be fair my nails have started to improve so at least they will be ready for the chemo.. there are 2 tubes in box when you buy them 1 for toe nails and 1 for hand nails. Also someone on this site recommended Jennifer Young products.
So you are managing to walk , because l am geared up to take this treatment  but if I can’t go out for a walk with my spaniel l will crack I live on my own and taking my dog out every day has kept me going.

GINGER !   I hated ginger but my nurse told me to get some biscuit in and to start eating them to get used to the taste because she said it does help so I have been eating ginger biscuits and I am starting to like them l bet ,l will soon hate them after the treatment is finished

take care keep on going xx

  • Hiya.  I have just finished chemo. My hair shed no end but i stuck with it and actually its started growing back between last 2 cycles of docetaxel. I tried cold cap for two and a bit sessions but gave up as after cycle one it was making me feel sick and pain. I've started using faith in nature shampoo and conditioner which may well be helping hair. My taste has been ok up until this last cycle and I think it's gone a bit.
