You can get one on prescription and as a cancer warrior you can get medical exemption certificate so you don't pay for prescriptions. When you have line fitted ask nurses for recommendation and take to gp

• After having my PICC line fitted, I asked the nurses if they offered one on the NHS and they said they didn't think so, but pointed me in the direction of the MacMilllan shop on the way out of the hospital. As shop was closed at the time,  I just ordered this one on Amazon. I've had it for over 2 months now and have never had an issue with it, it's fully waterproof and then dries off quickly.

Hi I got a waterproof cover and 2 fabric sleeves given by the nurse when I had mine fitted. I’m in N Yorkshire so it may be different in other areas xx

It's not that bad when in.  It shouldn't hurt and if it does then speak to your nurses and they will be able to help. They did with me - I had additional dressing which stopped me feeling the metal clip in arm. Makes it easier having bloods as well providing person taking bloods is competent with picc line.

I was given one when I had the picc inserted.  I was a bit nervous the first time I used it but it was easy & I got used to it very quickly.  Good luck with it all xxx 

• My daughter was given 2 sleeves.   They are too big as she’s lost so much weight so the hospital suggested wrapping her arm in cling film.  Not very sustainable but effective when no other choice.  She didn’t have any discomfort when the Picc line went in or since.

Depends where you are, some hospitals do, some don’t, my hospital didn’t but I got one off Amazon x
