Hi fellow buddies, have been off here for a while, been dealing with chyle leak issues very rare with breast cancer..one in 200 lucky me! Had to have 6 weeks on a fat free diet after having a total of 2,250 mls of fluid drained from the Mastectomy site, been a nightmare, backwards and forwards to hospital. My Chemotherapy start on 31st May for 12 weeks. Picc line goes 8n on 30th. Apparently I'm having EC every 2 weeks for 4 weeks and Paclitaxel once every week. Zoledronic acid once every 6 months x6 then I get 6 weeks off before radiotherapy starts, so that's my summer sorted! To say I'm bricking it is an understatement, I know it has to be done and I am preparing for whatever is thrown at me but not looking forward to sickness or sore mouth, I love my food!!
The hair loss I've prepared for by having my long curls cut to a bob then to short, so it won't be so much of a shock, got a false eyelashes ready and an eyebrow stamp, I'm not getting caught out! I've even found a skin kind fake tan..bald I can do but bald and white!? Nooo uncle Fester springs to mind!! Anyway..has anyone else had these types of chemo drugs?? Love to all ️
Hi Musicmumma I'm joining you for the summer of guff.
I was told yesterday, 4 x EC, 4 x Paclitaxel 2 weeks apart, not discussed the radio yet as I'll be referred on for that.
I did say to the Dr it's not quite how I'd planned my summer.
Here with you for support.
Hi MrsP2003..thanks for the reply. What a great summer we have coming up! We had to cancel our holiday which we were so looking forward to. But got to be done unfortunately I'm her for you also..we almost have to support each other through this rubbish!
I haven't even booked my holiday yet... was planning something nice this year but instead of celebrating my 50th in style I got biopsies that week instead. Still I can make it a double-do instead.
Hi Musicmumma
Welcome back to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been having problems with leakage.
I suggest that you make up a solution of salt and warm water and rinse your mouth out with it after every meal. I did that and I didn’t get any mouth sores. Other on here have also suggest sucking on ice cubs during chemo to prevent mouth sores.
I you haven’t already been given a prescription for anti sickness meds you should after your first chemo be given meds or a prescription for anti-sickness meds. Make sure you take them every day to help prevent sickness.
Wishing you the best of luck with chemo and hopefully the side effects will be kind to you.
Best wishes

Hi Musicmumma, we chatted a while back, I think we had our operations around the same time. I’m really sorry to hear you’ve had such a nightmare but glad you can finally move on to the next step of treatment. My plan sounds similar to yours, I had my first EC 2 weeks ago, my 2nd is next Wednesday. My plan is EC x3 with 3 weekly gaps then Pax every week for 9 weeks, i don’t need radiotherapy. Then tablets for ever more, I can’t remember the name of them.
You need to join the May chemo starters, lots of lovely ladies going through similar experiences with great advice and support.
Take care, big hugs xx
Hi Cazza25..yes does sound similar..I'm hoping it's only once a week for the pax and the way I read it ec every 2 weeks, I will only really know I suppose when it all starts! It's good to speak to people going through it, you do t feel so alone. Big hugs xxxx
