Hi,
I’m a 31 year old with two beautiful babies and I found out on Tuesday that I have breast cancer in 2 areas of my breast so have to have a mastectomy.
I’m having a CT scan on Sunday to see if the cancer has spread elsewhere as I’m having pain in my shoulder too.
has anyone else experienced pain in the breast after a biopsy and just general pain in the shoulder with breast cancer?
also, anyone with a 10 year old - how did you help them to cope? I’m so sad for my daughter.
So sorry to hear you have breast cancer! This is the worst time for you all the waiting for tests and then results. I was diagnosed in September with Tubular and DVIS breast cancer. My breast was sore and I felt exactly where it was when I had my ultra sound. I also had and still have pain in my shoulder. I’m actually having physio now on my back and the pain got worse probably because I was so tense. Just take one step at a time and you will do this xx
Thank you so much for your response. I’m so sorry for you having the diagnosis in September, also. I don’t know the different types of breast cancer yet as I’m wanting to know what I’m facing before scaring myself even more as I already feel so scared, so forgive my ignorance of your type of breast cancer.
I could feel one of my lumps, however the other was picked up by the ultrasound and mammogram as it’s quite deep. I also have cells calcifying along the top of my breast too, hence them not offering me an alternative to a mastectomy.
How are you feeling now? X
Hi,
Sorry of hear of your diagnosis. I was 34 when diagnosed so understand how much of a shock it is at a younger age. I did have a lot of breast pain after biopsy and also after they put a marker in. I think it's the trauma and is quite normal. My son was 4 (now 5) when I was diagnosed and I think with being a younger age has taken it in his stride. I guess it's a lot different with a 10 year old but I have found telling my son everything and being very open has been helpful. Being in the loop helps him not to worry I think.
Hi ,I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis and I know how worried you must be.I’m going into the breast clinic on Monday as I’ve got two quite large lumps and swollen hard lymph nodes on my right breast and have been seeing the physio for the past year with shoulder pain and now I get a pain in my right shoulder blade at the back .I had my very first routine mammogram at the start of April that came back clear even though I could feel the lumps then but asked for a referral from my gp as feel something not right as extremely tired all the time with no energy all this last year as well .
All the best with your scan on Sunday ,there are so much great positive podcasts available from Spotify etc which are really informative .
Take care xx
