Hi all - I've just had my first round of (EC) chemo for grade 3 DCIS, ER, PR negative, HER2 3+ positive - whatever that all means!!
Had the chemo on Thursday and been exhausted today so just sat here and thought I'd join the community. I don't do much social media and never been on a forum in my life but wanted to say hello as feeling a bit bewildered and lonely
It's a group I would like NOT to have had to join but reading some messages it looks like there's a lot of lovely support on here ️
Hope everyone is doing OK xx
Hi Zedd11 , welcome to the group non of us want to be in, but are very glad we are with all the support we get from each other.
Im starting my EC chemo on Tuesday.
Glad you are listening to your body and resting as you need. Hopefully you got all the tablets to help with your side effects, which people who have been/ going through this, say are helpful.
Join us in the May Chemotherapy group too
Take care x
Hi there and thanks for your message - I'll take a look at that group now.
The anti-sickness meds are a must but unfortunately I reacted to the Dexamethasone so had to stop - seem to be OK with just Ondansetron and regular snacks even if i dont feel like eating
Good luck for Tuesday- let me know how you go x
Hello Zedd11, I hope you start to feel better soon. I can understand that it can feel like a lonely place but you are never alone so I'm glad you joined the group for support. Did they find some invasive cancer after your op? I've just been diagnosed with DCIS and chemo has not been mentioned so it's thrown my slightly. Best wishes
Hi Gemma - hope you are doing OK.
I'm having my op after the chemo - they said this is because it's a large tumour (5cm) and i also have lots of dots of it throughout the breast. They want to shrink it as much as possible first. Think it also depends on the exact type too which can determine the way they manage things and so not everyone would have chemo?
Hope that makes sense? xx
