Now that I'm nearing the end of all treatment of my breast cancer, we'd like to take a break but I realise that standard travel insurance might not cover me. Has anyone got first hand experience of a good insurance company?

  • Hi

I have recently used goodtogoinsurance.com to cover me for a holiday in February having finished by treatment in January.

You might also want to join the travel insurance group where you'll find recommendations from others who have been successful. Once you've joined look for the thread called 'recommended travel insurance' as this is where the majority of recommendations are.

  • I used a screenscraper payingtoomuch.com to get travel insurance for me and hubby. Only screenscraper that would work when I put in breast cancer as pre existing condition.

  • Stay Sure were able to provide me with  annual policy for a very fair price.

  • I go on the compare websites and check.  They ask about treatment, if you've refused anything,  how long ago and if it was in your nodes.   Just back from 6 days in majorca and it cost just over £13. Also take an EHIC or global health card.  X

  • I couldn't get a quote from the standard comparison websites. I had to use paying too much.com.

  • we used Staysure for a recent trip. We'd booked before tests/diagnosis/treatment and I updated my details after finishing treatment and just cost an extra £5.50. My breast care nurse suggested M&S or Boots, apparently both good for cancer patients

  • I have used staysure who paid out when I had to cancel due to diagnosis 3 days before a river cruise.
