Hi. I am interested to hear from anyone who has finished their treatment for breast cancer but are struggling with energy levels and peripheral neuropathy of their feet. I finished 6 doses of chemo in August followed by a Lumpectomy and 6 doses of Radiotherapy and i am struggling with these symptoms.

  • Hi I had surgery in Nov and Dec 2022.  I had two weeks of intense radiotherapy and taking Anaestrozole for 7 years.  I am suffering from fatigue and never had as many aches and pains.  I am grateful that I didn’t have to have chemo but am really struggling at the minute.  I’m attending physio for my upper back which is going into spasms.  I believe this is coming from tight muscles in my shoulder blades

  • Hi I finished 5 rounds of radiotherapy in January and I have the numbness in the balls of my feet, joints aches and tiredness. I just read up on peripheral neuropathy thanks for that, it says tablets treating cancer can cause this.

    Take care x

  • Hi, I am sorry you are struggling with the after effects of treatment. Your peripheral neuropathy may recover a bit with time. My tiredness from chemo has taken 12 months from finishing treatment to resolve. I still pace myself at times, but mostly I am much better now. Hopefully you will start to see your energy levels improve a lot as summer approaches. I also wonder if the shock of my diagnosis and high recurrence risk affected my mood a bit, and maybe that added to my tiredness too. It does take some time for the dust to settle on many fronts. I find that daily exercise/ walks, a reasonably healthy diet and lots of positive distraction (usually in the form of good company in the daytime) really helps me. I hope your strength returns soon.
