Hi there
I have recently been diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma which at the moment they have graded as a grade 2 and HER2 positive.
I am currently waiting to have an MRI scan which is in a week or so. I'm also awaiting an appointment for a gene blood test as most of the ladies on my mums side have had breast cancer. They've told me I will definitely be having surgery but not sure what else is going to happen
I'm in my 40s and struggling to find a comfortable and supportive bra and wondered if you guys could help me. I'm currently wearing a bralet as my usual t shirt bras are too uncomfortable is it also worth getting measured again
TIA
Hi, I was fortunate to hit M&S sale for bras. I bought two non underwired support bras. I bought my normal size but I think it would have been better to get one size up so less pressure on your wound. M&S measure you and will advise you. I also bought a couple of support bras that are a bit like a vest for sleeping in. I’ve just stopped wearing the night ones now after 5 months.
Thank you.
I will have a look see what I can find x
Hi HumbleB, M&S do some lovely soft supportive, comfy bras. I bit the bullet and went for a fitting with them it was easy. I got the perfect bras at the right fit first time . No more tight bras or boobs exploding out of the cups .
Wising you all the best for your journey

I bought two post surgery bras from M & S. They are soft and comfy and have the pocket in case an insert is needed. They have a wide band underneath the breasts. VAT free as well. The Macmillan Nurse said to keep the bra on after surgery. Still use them now. I went to a shop in Chichester later and got a bra fitted, it specialises in post surgery bras. The M & S ones are my favourite for comfort. All mine were underwired which they say you shouldn't wear for year. X
You will need to wear a non wired bra after surgery. I bought two M&S after surgery bras they were really comfy and i also bought a nursing bra to sleep in after surgery. Can't remember where I got that from. But was measured for the after surgery bras and advised that I would need to go up a cup size to allow for swelling.
Stay strong and positive you will get through this even though at times you'll feel like life is shit and why me. But with good friends and family around you, you'll never be alone. Oh and another word of advice, if someone asks if they can do anything to help say yes and gibe them a list of things that need to be done but you can't do eg ironing, hoovering, hanging out washing etc. That will take a worry of your shoulders.
Thank you so much for your advice and words of kindness very much appreciated xx
